About Me: I grew up in Columbus, Ohio and attended Ohio State University where I received my B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and was a member of the marching band. I stayed at OSU for my PhD working in Prof. Carlos Castro's lab making nanoscale machines using DNA and developing novel actuation methods. I moved to the University of Chicago for my postdoc with Prof. Matt Tirrell in the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering where I focused on physical property characterization and design of polymeric nanoparticles for nucleic acid delivery. I started my lab at UT Austin in Aug 2022 in the Walker Department of Mechanical Engineering with affiliations in the Materials Science and Biomedical Engineering graduate programs. We engineer biomaterials to develop nanoscale sensors and actuators, smart soft materials, and tailored therapeutics. Outside of work I enjoy music, hiking, sports, and exploring new places with my family.
